Radio Canada has great free French games and videos.
My personal favourite is Charlie Brown series in French. The games are great too, and many match FSL units!

Use this site to create your own activities. These include Battleship, Jenga questions, Ping-Pong. This site has been created by French teachers at the Greater Essex County District School board.
Socrative is a great site for interactive class play.
It replaces the need for clickers.
Students would need a computer/ipad/ ipod, etc. You should also have your computer hooked up to a data projector or Smartboard.
No student log in is required.

Here are some ways I use it
- Review for a test - students can answer questions on their devices and the results are immediately calculated for the teacher to see. You can provide immediate feedback, and also see which questions the class has difficulty with.
- Practicing new vocabulary - you can input pictures or questions and have students race to finish the questions. Though students are in teams they can still be answering individually. If they get the correct response their team rocket will slide closer to the finish line. If, however, they make a mistake the rocket will not move, but other students will not be aware of the error.
- Classroom discussion - You can quickly enter a question and have students respond using their devices, the answers will be presented for all to see. Students can then vote for the answers.

Kahoot!
This is similar to Socrative however it doesn't have the test capabilities.
It is more game based and fast paced. Students enjoy the competition because it will list the top five players on the leaderboard. After each question it will also tell students where they rank and who is ahead of them.
The teacher must create and run the game from www.getkahoot.com
Students need to access the website www.kahoot.it to play the game. They will be prompted to enter a game pin, that will be visible on the data projector/ Smartboard.

Quizlet
Great for interactive flashcards.
Students can hear how to pronounce the word in French.
When they have reviewed the vocabulary they can then play some games for further practice or can test themselves. This is great for the start of a new unit and to post on a classroom website.

ClassDojo
This site is great for classroom management. You can track behaviours for each of your students, for example: how many times they answer questions, their homework completion, use of French in classroom discussions, etc. I use the site a bit differently. My students are placed in tribe teams, and each tribe has one account. I aware points for answering questions, winning games or anything I want to encourage. The website makes a nice bell sound when awarding points and students react quickly to it. Even my grade 8 students respond well to it. There is also the option to take points away. You can edit behaviours and points allotted for each. For example - 2 per answer, 3 for test signed, 5 for winning a game, etc.
Zondle
This site allows teachers to enter simple multiple choice or short answer questions and it will automatically create a game using these questions. The games are quite entertaining and my students enjoy playing them. Teachers can use resources that other teachers have created.
